Sections of Stillwater Township fall under an Orderly Annexation Agreement with the City of Stillwater. This agreement was made in 1996 and a Joint Board was established. The Joint Board, consisting of two township members and two city members, oversees planning decisions in the OAA area. Not all areas of Stillwater Township are included in the OAA, so there is also a township Planning Commission and township-specific ordinances.
